My interest in photography began with wildlife photography in South Africa where I lived for many years and this afforded me the opportunity to develop my skills, observation and patience in natural surroundings. The progression from wildlife photography to photographing people evolved over time and I found I was able to develop an affiliation with my clients which had not been possible with animals! Since returning to the UK, I have been fortunate enough to have had the pleasure of being a part of many happy occasions such as weddings and special occasions. I believe my success with as a wedding photographer is due to my friendly yet professional and organised approach and past experience. Understanding the couple s expectations is important and together we discuss and plan their ideas, with some of my suggestions thrown in too. My style is relaxed and unobtrusive and does not interrupt the natural flow of the day, and by building a rapport with the couple, I am able to capture the emotion and fun of the day s events. As well as capturing the traditional images, I include reportage and candid shots and any details as they unfold which would otherwise go unnoticed (that s the female eye for you!) and provide amusing and evocative insights of the day. I can truly say I love my work!
